Beta Carotene is also known as pro-vitamin A. Dogs easily convert beta carotene into vitamin A, but cats do not. Vitamin A is essential for normal eyesight and night vision. It is important for normal body growth, the formation of bones and soft tissue, stimulating the immune system and helping maintain skin and coat. It is found in high amounts in liver, sweet potatoes, carrots and dandelion greens.
