Arginine or l-arginine is an amino acid that is naturally found in meats. The “L” refers to the type of molecule that the body can correctly utilize. Arginine is needed, especially in cats to produce ornithine, another amino acid needed to bind to ammonia. Arginine is also needed for healing wounds and cell division.
