Alfalfa meal is the aerial portion of the alfalfa plant, reasonably free of other crop plants, weeds and mould, either suncured or dried and then ground. (AAFCO, 2003) Alfalfa is an excellent source of phytonutrients, trace minerals and vitamin K. See Dehydrated Alfalfa or Suncured Alfalfa.
